Ecumenical Women at the United Nations is an international coalition of Christian church denominations and ecumenical organizations which have status with the Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) at the United Nations. These bodies share and are committed to a common mission and vision. Grounded in our faith and commitment to global justice, Ecumenical Women trains and empowers our expanding network to advocate for gender equality at the United Nations.
Ecumenical Women's training for the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) this year will be held on February 27, 2010, from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Orientation will consist of an overview of United Nations processes and structures, how to do advocacy at the U.N., and an introduction to this year's priority theme: "15-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action."
Meals and an Advocacy Guide are included in the price of the training. A party will follow the training for interested delagates.
We will also be providing two Advocacy Dinners during the first week of the CSW to strategize and consolidate our advocacy plans; food will be provided.
